As a family-owned company, we realise the importance of our world class employees in the successful delivery of our safe and efficient drilling operations. We currently have a new and exciting opportunity, for a Subsea Electronics Engineer working in our Subsea team, based in Aberdeen.
SOME OF THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Shore based support relating to vessel well control electronics equipment.
- Support of Offshore Subsea team.
- Ensure that equipment failures are properly investigated, root causes identified, and remedial action taken in order to ensure reliability.
- Ensure offshore personnel are informed of any fleet wide issues, product bulletins and safety alerts. Provide advice on relevant corrective and preventative actions to address product bulletins and safety alerts.
- Advise on preventative maintenance strategies relating to well control equipment electrical and electronic control systems.
- Assist with planning, budgeting and executing electrical and electronic well control equipment upgrade and modification projects.
- Assist with analysis of well control equipment real time monitoring data for trending and reliability improvements.
- Assist with the resolution and correction of equipment failures and provide clear and accurate information on cause and effects of failures to key stakeholders.
- Suitable applicants should ideally have completed an internship or apprenticeship in relevant industry with experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic control systems, and an understanding or experience in the following:
- Well control or production control Subsea electronics equipment.
- Communication protocols such as RS232, RS485, TCP/IP.
- Planning and execution of projects and upgrades in an offshore environment.
- Working with relevant API, IPC and DNV regulations.
SUITABLE APPLICANTS SHOULD IDEALLY HAVE:
- Career experience in the design review, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic control systems.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Membership of a Professional Institute & working towards Incorporated/Chartered Status.
- CompEx EX01-EX04 or equivalent.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft office package and Microsoft Project.
