We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Subsea MUX Engineer to join our Offshore Team, assigned to the Subsea Leasing.
Roles & Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Work with BOP control system OEMs at their worksites on equipment overhauls, new build equipment and modifications. Review and monitor job progress and ensure quality standards are upheld and relevant API and DNV standards are adhered to.
- Assist Subsea Electronics Engineer with project planning and execution.
- Lead the onsite execution of 5-yearly equipment overhauls and maintenance. Ensure work packs and associated documentation is followed and completed.
- Responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and acceptance of new, refurbished or upgraded BOP MUX equipment on board the vessel.
- Assist with the correct assembly, operation, maintenance, testing and disconnection of the subsea blowout preventer, marine riser and related equipment.
- Ensure all subsea BOP MUX equipment conforms to vessel’s class and applicable API requirements
- Ensure any software changes are carried out in accordance with Stena software control procedures.
- Ensure all modifications, breakdowns, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of subsea MUX equipment are carried out in a timely manner and entered into the Maximo system.
- Ensure all equipment modification work is carried out in accordance with Stena management of change procedures
- Ensure Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) System maintenance procedures are up to date and relevant. Propose improvement suggestions and updates to Subsea Electronics Engineer.
- Ensure good housekeeping in area of responsibility.
- Participate in Pre-Job Safety Meetings incorporating the relevant Risk Assessment for the specific task. Pay particular attention to hand and body placement for all operations involving close proximity to heavy equipment.
- Compile daily on-site progress reports and submit to Senior Subsea Engineer or Subsea Electronics Engineer and Aberdeen Office.
- Complete a documented end-of-tour handover in line with Stena Drilling’s Handover / Reporting Procedure.
- Any other duties as required by the Senior Subsea Engineer or Subsea Electronics Engineer.
Suitable Applicants should ideally have:
- Industry recognised engineering qualifications
- IWCF Well Control Certificate
- CompEx certificate
- Previous experience as an electronics technician working on subsea electronics in an offshore environment – e.g. ROV or BOP MUX systems. Or previous experience in engineering and management of well control equipment projects.
- Previous experience working on Cameron BOP MUX control systems
- Knowledge of API standards (16D & S53) and DNV standards (DNV-OS-A101, DNV-OS-D101 & DNV-OS-E101).
- Self-motivated
- Ability to read technical drawings
