We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Subsea MUX Engineer to join our Offshore Team based within the Pool Crew.
Roles & Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the onsite execution of 5-yearly equipment overhauls and maintenance. Ensure work packs and associated documentation is followed and completed.
- Assist with the safe operation, maintenance, testing, and fault finding of electronic systems, controls and equipment in respect of the BOP MUX systems on board the vessel in conjunction with the Subsea MUX Engineer.
- Assist with the correct assembly, operation, maintenance, testing and disconnection of the Subsea blowout preventer, marine riser, and related equipment on board the vessel on which they are currently working.
- Be fully conversant with Level 2 procedures and ensure that Level 5 (RSWMs) are fully updated with current work practices and are in accordance with SMS.
- Ensure any software changes are carried out in accordance with Stena software control procedures.
- Ensure all modifications, breakdowns, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of Subsea MUX equipment are carried out in a timely manner and entered into the Maximo system.
- Ensure all equipment modification work is carried out in accordance with Stena management of change procedures with assistance from the Subsea MUX Engineer.
- Propose improvement suggestions and updates to Subsea Electronics Engineer for the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) System maintenance procedures.
- Inform Senior Subsea Engineer and Subsea MUX Engineer of all matters affecting BOP MUX system reliability / availability.
- Ensure good housekeeping in area of responsibility.
- Participate in Pre-Job Safety Meetings incorporating the relevant Risk Assessment for the specific task. Pay particular attention to hand and body placement for all operations involving close proximity to heavy equipment.
- Assist with generating the Subsea MUX engineer daily report.
- Complete a documented end-of-tour handover in line with Stena Drilling’s Handover / Reporting Procedure.
- Any other duties as required by the Senior Subsea Engineer, Subsea MUX Engineer or Subsea Electronics Engineer.
Suitable applicants should ideally have:
- Industry recognised engineering qualifications.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic controls equipment.
- Previous experience as an Electronics Technician working on Subsea electronics equipment E.G. ROV, Subsea Controls etc
- Self-motivated
