We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Rig Management Accountant to join our Onshore Team for maternity cover on a temporary basis for 6 months, based in our Aberdeen office.
Some of the duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- To inform the Rig Manager in particular, and Management generally of the operational income and costs of the rigs assigned to their control.
- Monthly preparation of rig profit and loss account, together with detailed variance notes showing actual expenditure against budget.
- Monthly preparation of rig balance sheet with full supporting schedules and reconciliations. Quarterly preparation of rig profit forecasts to incorporate all current assumptions and input from rig manager / operations team. Preparation of forecast v forecast variance notes each quarter. Assisting Senior Management Accountant in quarterly submission of group finance reporting and cash flow analysis specific to rig assigned to their control.
- Annual preparation of rig budget. Ad hoc preparation of budgetary type reports to assist in commercial decision making and cost analysis.
- Monthly preparation of rig revenue invoices for day rate and other elements as defined by the contract specific to the assigned rig. Liaising with contracts department to ensure full compliance with such contract.
- Regular billing and monitoring of all costs rechargeable to the client, ensuring full compliance with the contract specific to the rig assigned.
- Regular credit control of all outstanding invoices raised.
- Controlling and logging AFEs. Monitoring current spend against approved spend, identifying overruns where applicable and ensuring appropriate treatment of such overruns in line with company policy.
- Approval and monitoring of expenditures relating to the rig assigned, including necessary interface with purchasing and operations departments. Monitoring of accruals to ensure preparation of accurate monthly reporting.
- Liaising with rig management team and audit of local finance function at overseas locations, when applicable, including overseas travel when required.
- Preparation of ad-hoc project budgets, cost reports and forecasts, primarily five yearly SPS projects, and general support to project management teams.
- Any other duties that are required by the Senior Management Accountant.
Suitable applicants should ideally have:
- Accounting Qualification alternatively Management Accountant can substitute for the above mentioned formal education.
- Relevant experience in similar role
- Strong communication skills.
