We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Driller to join our offshore Team.
Some of the duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Control all Drilling Operations performed during their shift in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure the drilling operation is carried out as defined in the approved Operator’s Instructions and Drilling Programme, and the operation is executed in accordance with the Stena Drilling Operation Manual and RSWM’s.
- Seek continuous KPI improvements as per the KPI efficiency programme where applicable.
- Report directly to the Toolpusher any deviations from approved Operator’s Instructions or Drilling Programme.
- Responsible for ensuring the Drilling Crew perform Planned Maintenance on drilling equipment thoroughly and that it is recorded on the PM sheets.
- Responsible for all lifting activities on their assigned well center or area.
- Never leaves their post without the authority of the Toolpusher. Must regularly liaise with the Bridge regarding the station keeping capabilities of the rig where applicable.
- Ensuring that all maintenance carried out on drilling equipment has been entered into the TAG system.
- Ensure that the daily checks are carried out on drilling equipment.
- Delegates the drilling crew to carry out derrick inspections and Dropped Object Checks thoroughly and timely, the results documented, and anomalies reported and rectified.
- Responsible for always ensuring good housekeeping on the drill floor.
- Complete Daily Drilling Reports.
- Check the accuracy of drilling line ton mile record, where applicable.
- Check instructions, programmes and calculations supplied by Operator.
- Maintain an accurate pipe tally.
- Maintain an accurate and complete record of all equipment which enters the well.
- Acts as co-ordinator during well test operations and maintains a valve status board.
- Always monitor the well and record volumes when tripping.
- Must be familiar with space-out, pipe-stretch and shut-in procedure.
- Solely responsible for shutting the well in when circumstances dictate.
- Maintain a current kick sheet and update Slow Circulating Rate (SCR) record at least each shift in line with Stena Drilling’s Well Control Procedures.
- Ensure lifting equipment such as elevators and inserts are gauged and compatible with tubular(s) in use.
- Allocate tasks to Assistant Driller and Junior Driller where applicable and provide adequate supervision to ensure that all such tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
- Responsible and accountable for the safety of the personnel working under their direction and shall be expected to always conduct operations in full compliance with company procedures (SMS).
- Identify and address any violations of procedures concerning personnel under their direction.
- Continuous or repeated violations of policies or procedures should be highlighted and brought to the attention of the HoD/Master-OIM.
- Comply with the Management of Change Principle.
- Actively participate in accident/incident investigations when required.
- Any other duties as required by the Senior Toolpusher or Toolpusher
Suitable applicants should ideally have:
- Current IWCF Well Control Certificate.
- Previous experience as Assistant Driller
- Previous experience on similar installation
